Classroom Procedures
1. When the bell rings to start class, I expect students to have out the materials listed on the board.
2. At the end of class, there will be no lining up at the door before the bell rings. Students must be quiet enough for me to hear the bell. This applies to announcements and before being dismissed to lunch or an assembly.
3. If a student needs to leave class, a pass entry in the assignment notebook must be filled out at their seat. Student will then bring me the pass, and do not worry about interrupting. Remember to be respectful of classmates.
4. When someone is speaking, students will be attentive and quiet unless called upon. This applies to when other students, guest speakers, faculty or myself have the mic.
5. When I am having a private conversation with a fellow classmate or teacher, I expect students to stay on task with assigned classwork. If you need to interrupt, please be respectful of others.
6. Intentional outbursts or disruptions will be given an initial warning. If action continues, the student will be asked to leave class. If further action is required, an administration representative will be contacted. Parental contact is the next step.
7. During Class, I expect everyone to stay seated unless the activity calls for it. Students are allowed to get up to sharpen a pencil or use tissue, and will do so with minimal disruptions.
8. Seating will be chosen at random. Lab partners will be kept the same from the start of the semester.Students will be responsible for their own set of lab equipment.
9. A copy of the classroom syllabus will handed out and discussed within the first week of class. School handbooks are composed of all the school rules, procedures and schedules. Students will be briefed on information during Freshman Orientation.
10. All students are expected to be cooperative and active participants during class time.
